Invitation to Exhibit

On behalf of the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association (SC/MLA), we invite you to exhibit at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Southern Chapter Medical Library Association. The conference will be held in Nashville, TN October 17 - 20, 2002. SC/MLA is a professional organization made up of health science librarians from the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

The theme of this year's meeting is Libraries Creating One World: Connections, Collaborations, Cooperatives. We have secured several renowned speakers such as Dr. William Stead, Associate Vice Chancellor of Health Affairs from Vanderbilt University and Dean and Professor Toni Carbo from the School of Information Sciences, University of Pittsburgh. They will attract over 200 librarians from medical universities, hospitals, and other health related organizations of the Southern Chapter. The conference will be at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown.

Exhibits will open Friday, October 18, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Exhibitors may set up Friday, October 18, 2002 from Noon - 6:00 p.m. Take down will be Saturday, October 19, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

The exhibit fee of $350.00 includes your booth and one full registration with one ticket to the Welcome Reception and Banquet. Make checks payable to SC/MLA 2002, and return with the enclosed Exhibitor's Contract form. A fact sheet with set-up information will be sent at a later date. Additional tickets and registrations may be purchased if your institution sends more than one representative. The deadline for submitting a contract for exhibit space is July 15, 2002, but we urge you to apply as early as possible to reserve your booth, since space is limited. We are mailing almost 90 invitations and have room for only 21 exhibitors.

The Banquet will be held Saturday, October 19th at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, a nonprofit art-exhibition center, with approximately 24,000 square feet of gallery space. The Center is constructed in what was formerly Nashville's historic main post office, a city landmark that was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The word is that we will have the "classiest" caterer in town for the banquet!

We hope that you will join us for a great conference. We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your support of our Annual Meeting. Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions.

Sincerely,
Dixie Williamson
