As Coordinator of Eskind Biomedical Library's (EBL) Research Informatics Consult Service (RICS), Ms. Lyon provides information services to medical research personnel. Services include on-site training, electronic resources, selective dissemination of information, individualized consultations and filtered searches. Ms. Lyon’s specialty area is molecular biology in which she holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
After completing her M.S. degree in 1993, she worked in the biotechnology industry as a scientist and technical service representative. In 1998, Ms. Lyon entered the Masters in Library and Information Studies program at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She completed the M.L.I.S. in December of 1999 and entered the internship program at EBL in January 2000. At the end of the internship, she accepted a permanent position as a librarian.
