Joyce A. Mitchell, PhD — Presenter
Dr. Mitchell currently serves as the Department Chair of Medical Informatics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Prior to this, she was a faculty member of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine for 24 years, where she was professor of health management, informatics, and child health in the medical genetics division. Dr. Mitchell also served as adjunct professor in the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies. From 1994-2001 she was associate dean for integrated technology services for the medical school and chief information officer for the University of Missouri Health Care. Dr. Mitchell was heavily involved in the development of Genetics Home Reference, a NLM consumer health resource that addresses the Human Genome Project and its impact on healthcare.
