Herbert McLean Evans

(1882-1971)

Educated at the University of California-Berkeley and Johns Hopkins University. Held positions at Johns Hopkins and University of California-Berkeley. Research on the anatomy and physiology of reproduction, discovered vitamin E and certain pituitary hormones, early work on essential fatty acids. An avid collector of old books.
