Educated at the University of Illinois. Held positions at the University of Illinois. Research on protein, energy and mineral requirements in humans and domestic animals. Improved methods for controlling nutrition studies, including balance studies. Author of "Comparative Nutrition of Man and Domestic Animals." Collector of reference books and journals.
