Books, monographic serials, and circulating AV materials may be checked out at the
two Service Desks on the First Floor. Most of these items circulate for a three week
period and may be renewed 3 times. Reference books, books from the textbook collection,
and journals do NOT circulate.
You may renew your items at any Service Desk, or you may renew your items over the
telephone. If you have access to Acorn, you can also renew your books through the
internet (Instructions on Renew Materials in Acorn).
Recalls and Overdue Fines
You may recall items checked out to other borrowers. To recall an
item, please click the recall this item button in Acorn.
We will notify you by e-mail when your item becomes available. If
you have an item that is recalled by another user, you will have
14 days undisturbed use before the item is recalled and seven days
to return the item after the recall notice is received.
You should return or renew borrowed materials on time. We charge fines for overdue
recalled items and for overdue course reserve items. Additionally, we bill for items not
returned or lost, and we also charge a billing fee. An accumulation of unpaid fines or
bills will result in the suspension of library privileges and delays in the clearances
needed before leaving the University.
