Accessing EBL's Restricted Resources from Off-Campus
Due to license agreements, many of EBL's electronic resources are limited
to Vanderbilt faculty, staff and students. In order to access those resources
from off-campus Vanderbilt users must employ one of the following methods.
Using A Dial-in Modem (through VUaccess--the university's dial-in modem service) |
Using An Internet Service Provider (ISP) (such as AOL, AT&T,
Microsoft Network, etc.)
|
- Activate your VUnet ID and password
- Install communications software on your computer that supports Slip/PPP
access (dial-up networking in Windows NT) *
- Dial-in using the VUaccess modem pool phone numbers
* If you do not already have communications software, go to the Information Technology Services (ITS) Help Desk (part of ACIS) to obtain your free CD containing the dial-in software and installation instructions. ITS is located in Room 143 of The Hill Center on the Peabody Campus. Call the Help Desk at 343-1631 for more information.
|
- Activate your VUnet ID and password
- During your browser session, the first time you access a restricted resource, you will be prompted for your VUnet ID and password. You will be authenticated as a Vanderbilt user for the remainder of your browser session.
