Eskind Biomedical Library Building
Four floors comprise the Eskind Biomedical Library building. EBL staff carry out library operations on floors 1-3 and the Informatics Center is housed on the 4th floor. As a highly visible component of the Medical Center, the Informatics Center governs all aspects of information processing in the Medical Center.
Health Information Analysts and librarians assist users at the three service desks situated on the
first floor.
The floor layout includes numerous public workstations for accessing electronic resources.
Recent journals and new book acquisitions are located on the right side of the floor with an adjoining reading area.
Users will also find the reference collection, review book collection, oversize books, indexes and abstracts, and the audiovisual collection located on this floor.
The journal collection begins on the second floor of the library.
Patrons will find journals with titles beginning with A-J located here.
Study rooms for VUMC group or individual study purposes and study carrels are also available.
Additionally, EBL staff perform administrative and
technical service
functions from their offices on the second floor.
The third floor
of the EBL contains journal titles beginning with the letters K-Z along with the monograph
collections. The Historical Collection
also resides on the third floor.
