    Crowdsourcing With a Human Face

From Pokemon Go and Amazon’s MTurk to civic technology, crowdsourcing projects are integrated into many parts of our lives. Successful projects like Old Weather and Transcribe Bentham as well as those associated with the centennial of World War I have created large amounts of data using volunteer labor. As crowdsourcing tools change how psychological studies are conducted or citizens interact with their governments, scholars, funders, and the public are raising questions about the ethical dimension of these data collection techniques.
