    · EBV latent infection is a causal agent of lymphoid and epithelial cell malignancies, including Burkitt's lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma
    · The viral protein EBNA1 is essential for latent infection and has viral-specific structural fold
    · X-ray crystallography of bound fragments were used to advance medicinal chemistry to develop small molecule inhibitors of EBNA1 to treat EBV latency and associated tumors
