"Engaging Members in the Development of a Health Assessment and Behavior Change Tool to Support the YMCA of Middle Tennessee's Strategic Goals for Healthy Living in Our Community"
The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is nation's eighth largest Y association in the country, serving more than 360,000 people of all ages each year. As the region's leading nonprofit dedicated to improving health and well-being, the organization seeks to improve outcome measurement for its members to better demonstrate how involvement with Y programs positively impacts the health of its members.
The need to improve outcome measurement led to an ongoing and growing research partnership, and this talk will address how the partners launched their research with member input to ensure the long-term success of an assessment protocol (well-being survey) that will soon pilot at the Margaret Maddox YMCA. In time, the organization hopes to utilize the survey at all of its location to both enable members to monitor their health improvement and allow the Y to continually evaluate its program effectiveness.
