Telephone Triage is a full-day course that is applicable to all nurses and especially those that primarily use the telephone to communicate with patients.
This course covers the following topics: introduction and history to Telephone Triage, the uses of the telephone in nursing today, the role of the triage nurse, benefits of telephone triage, applying the nursing process to telephone triage, customer service and active listening skills, documentation, legal aspects, and care of the telephone triage nurse.
Seven (7) contact hours are available Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This is an interval training class that combines aerobic exercise with strength training. Students use props including handheld weights, steps, Bosu, balance.
This one-hour class combines the cardio of spin bikes with the power of weight lifting. Open to all fitness levels, the class will move on and off the bikes for maximum benefit. Along with the bikes, participants may use hand weights, body bars, stability balls, resistance bands, medicine balls, and BOSUS as part of the resistance work.

The Vanderbilt Farmers Market kicks off the season on June 5. This will mark the sixth year of providing fresh fruits and vegetables, along with local goat cheese, grass-fed meat, healthy baked goods, and artisan foods to the Vanderbilt community. The market will be held on the Medical Center Plaza every Thursday from 3-6 p.m., June 5 to Oct. 30.
