Television newsman and author Tom Brokaw and Vanderbilt Distinguishd Visiting Professor Jon Meacham join sons Stephen and Andrew Schlesinger for a historical analysis of the letters written by their father, Author Schlesinger Jr.
Vanderbilt Distinguished Visiting Professor Jon Meacham will moderate this talk which will reveal the unvarnished views on the great issues and personalities of Schlesinger's time. As an advisor to presidents, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, and tireless champion of progressive government, Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. was also an inveterate letter writer and prolific correspondent whose wide range of associates included Harry Truman, John and Robert Kennedy, and Bill Clinton.
The Chancellor's Lecture Series is pleased to host this monumental event coinciding with the release of the book "The Letters of Arthur Schlesinger, Jr."
