Cell and Developmental Biology Recruiting

The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology is undertaking a significant expansion and seeks outstanding candidates for several tenure-track positions.  Although primarily interested in candidates at the level of Assistant Professor, applications at any level will be considered.  Research in the department spans from molecular to whole-organism studies and we are looking for candidates using cutting edge approaches and techniques to address fundamental questions in the fields of Cell and Developmental Biology. We encourage candidates working in quantitative biology, stem cells, disease models, and/or model organisms to apply.  However, we are more concerned with recruiting excellence than in filling specific areas of research. Successful applicants will receive competitive start-up packages, outstanding laboratory facilities, and will also benefit from state-of-the-art core facilities, active graduate programs and a highly interdisciplinary environment.  Candidates are expected to develop strong and creative research programs and to participate in graduate teaching.  Applications from couples are welcome.  Vanderbilt University Medical Center is committed to diversity and is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer.  Applications should include curriculum vitae, a 2-page research plan, reprints of 3 recent publications, and 3 letters of recommendation. All application materials should be submitted as one (1) PDF file to: cdb.recruiting@vanderbilt.edu

Reference letters should be emailed in a timely manner directly from referees.  Selection of applicants will begin November 1, 2012.
