Nafeh Fananapazir joined the Department of Biomedical Informatics in May 2002 as part of Vanderbilt University's M.D./ Ph.D. MSTP (Medical Scientist Training Program). He is currently pursuing his Masters in Bioinformatics, studying the application of Machine Learning techniques to proteomics (mass spectrometry) data in the evaluation of cancer diagnosis. He obtained his bachelors degree (Interdisciplinary Studies) from the University of Virginia with concentrations in biology, chemistry, and Middle Eastern studies and maintains an active extracurricular interest in the history of religion and philosophy.
