Patient Care

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has a very strong Movement Disorder specialty group in the Department of Neurology, with specialists for Parkinson’s Disease and Multi-System Atrophy. Our Movement Disorder Division neurologists provide clinical care and also conduct clinical and basic research relating to Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders. In addition, there is a specialty practice for patients with dysautonomia, including Multi-System Atrophy (previously called Shy-Drager syndrome). Finally, our neurologists and neurosurgeons closely collaborate and offer surgical approaches to the treatment of movement disorders, including deep brain stimulation and pallidotomy.
