I
am a native of Germany but have resided in the
USA for seven years. I earned my masters and doctoral
degrees in biology from the University of Stuttgart
in Stuttgart, Germany. Then I served in postdoc
positions around the world. My first postdoc was
at the University of Tuebingen, Department of
Neuro-pharmacology at the Netherlands Institute
for Brain Research in Amersterdam. My next postdoc
was at Yale University, Department of Psychiatry
in New Haven, Connecticut. Then I fulfilled a
postdoc position at Vanderbilt University, Department
of Psychiatry in Nashville, Tennessee. I have
several publications in many well known journals,
some being the European Journal of Neuroscience,
Journal of Neuroscience, and Synapse. Currently
a research instructor, I am working on the regulation
of striatal interneurons and on regulation of
orexin neurons. In my free time, I enjoy ballroom
dancing, reading, and visiting with friends.
