I am currently a graduate student in the Department of Pharmacology. I graduated from the University of New Mexico in the spring of 2004 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Psychology. My research at UNM, conduced in the laboratory of David Vander Jagt in the Department of Biochemistry, was focused on the development of a pharmacophore that would describe functional characteristics of molecules that could potentially disrupt amyloid ? aggregation as well as testing compounds synthesized by the lab as potential inhibitors of amyloid ? aggregation. My current research focuses on determining the expression of presynaptic proteins in the prefrontal cortex after cortical dopamine depletion. Outside of the lab I love to play tennis, salsa dance, and explore as well as photograph the great outdoors.
