A wide range of analytical measurements important for studies related to lipid metabolism are offered which include plasma lipid profiles, plasma non-esterified fatty acids, ultra centrifugal isolation of plasma lipoproteins, cell/tissue lipid analysis, tissue and short-chain fatty acids, lipoproteins by FPLC, cholesteryl ester transfer protein activity and individual phospholipid class quantification. Most of these assays are of critical importance to Diabetes investigators. Plasma lipids and non-esterified fatty acids (NEFAs) are particularly relevant given the fact that dyslipedemias are associated with diabetes.
