At the end of the summer, each participant will deliver an oral presentation summarizing his/her research during the summer. The format will be similar to the scientific sessions at national research meetings. You will have 10 minutes for your presentation followed by five minutes for questions. The audience will be composed of fellow students, preceptors, and other interested individuals. You will prepare appropriate visual aids (Powerpoint, slides, etc.) and will write an abstract summarizing your research. Your preceptor will assist you in preparing your presentation.
The Medical Student Summer Research Training Program is supported by the Vanderbilt Short Term
Research Training Program for Medical Students (NIH grant DK007383) and the Vanderbilt Diabetes
Research and Training Center (NIH grant DK20593).
