Renewing
You may renew your items online, at any Service Desk, or over the telephone. To renew your materials online, go to Acorn and log in to your account with your VUnet ID and password (Instructions on Renewing Materials in Acorn).
Recalls and Overdue Fines
You may recall items checked out to other borrowers. To recall an item, please click the recall this item button in the item's record in Acorn. We will notify you by e-mail when your item becomes available. If you have an item that is recalled by another user, you will have 14 days undisturbed use before the item is recalled and seven days to return the item after the recall notice is received.
You should return or renew borrowed materials on time. We charge fines for overdue recalled items and for overdue course reserve items. Additionally, we bill for items not returned or lost, and we also charge a billing fee. An accumulation of unpaid fines or bills will result in the suspension of library privileges and delays in the clearances needed before leaving the University.
