Outpatient Whiteboard Implementation
The EMR Team is currently working on getting the outpatient clinics implemented on the Outpatient Whiteboard. This tool has some very exciting features including "room movement" which allows a clinic to track which rooms in the clinic are available or occupied at the present time and where patients are currently located in the clinic. Contact your EMR Specialist for more details.
What is the EMR Team?
EMR stands for Electronic Medical Record and refers to Vanderbilt's electronic patient record system, StarPanel. Many programs interact with StarPanel, so they are also considered part of the EMR. As members of the EMR Team, we are here to help you navigate your way through StarPanel and all of the features it has to offer.
EMR Specialists
An EMR Specialist is an expert on our clinical applications, who is typically a nurse by background. This individual focuses upon training, education, and implementation of new and existing EMR tools. Each EMR Specialist is assigned to work with specific outpatient clinic areas, allowing for understanding of area-focused work flow, as well as preferred learning styles of the users in the respective areas.
Who is your EMR Specialist? Find out by clicking here.
EMR Administrators
The EMR Team also includes a role entitled EMR Administrator. These individuals assist the outpatient clinics with training, implementation, and maintenance of certain electronic tools used in a consistent manner across all areas. Examples of these efforts include Scanning and Electronic Patient Signature. For more information regarding such global project efforts, please contact Laura Montgomery at 2-7380, or email Laura Montgomery.
