Vanderbilt Valet is ready to help October 7, 2005 ![]() For the past 15 months, Vanderbilt Valet has handled a range of personal errands for VUMC employees, giving people more time to do whatever it is that matters most to them. For example, the four-member V V staff will make your dinner and theater reservations, handle your dry cleaning, shop around for you for travel deals or other goods and services, get your film developed, handle your UPS and USPS shipping, order flowers and gift baskets for you, or line up a limo. When you leave your car at the drop-off in South Garage, they’ll make sure it gets the requested repair, oil change or car wash. Charges for goods and services are paid by the employee, but the assistance provided by Vanderbilt Valet is free. Business is brisk, but Debi Tarrant, supervisor of Vanderbilt Valet, wonders whether all VUMC employees quite understand the service. “I don’t think everyone gets it — they think there’s a catch,” Tarrant said. “Who wouldn’t want to take advantage of this service?” Free gift wrapping was a hit last Christmas and a new weekly shoe-shine service in the Medical Center North lobby has proven popular. On a pilot basis, V V recently began providing services for patients in the round wing. Vanderbilt Valet is operated by Chicago-based Errand Solutions. The service desks are in the Medical Center North lobby and on the second floor of VCH. Call 343-8254 (MCN) or 936-8253 (VCH). |
