Dr. David Robertson
Dr. Robertson, Elton Yates Professor of Medicine, serves as program director for the Clinical Research Center.
He serves as director of Vanderbilt's Medical Science Training Program and
Vanderbilt's Center for Space Physiology and Medicine. Dr. Robertson is an accomplished clinical investigator with research
interests in the following areas:
- Autonomic Nervous System
- Blood Pressure Regulation
- Noradrenergic Neuronal Function
- Catecholamines
- Neurodegenerative Disease

Dr. Jeff Balser
Dr. Balser, Associate Vice-Chancellor for Research and Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology, serves as principal investigator for the Clinical Research Center grant.
Dr. Balser's research focus involves genetics and biophysics of voltage-gated ion channels and is
supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and the
American Heart Association. Dr. Balser's laboratory is also highly collaborative with basic and translational
research programs throughout the institution, housed in the Divisions of Clinical Pharmacology,
Genetic Medicine, Cardiology, and the Center for Structural Biology.

Dr. Stephen Davis
Dr. Davis, Rudolph H. Kampmeier Professor of Medicine, serves as an associate program director for the
Clinical Research Center. He also serves as chief of the Vanderbilt Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism
Diabetes Center. Dr. Davis is an accomplished clinical investigator with research
interests in the field of diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism.

Dr. Kathryn Edwards
Dr. Edwards, Professor of Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases, serves as an associate program
director for the Clinical Research Center. Dr. Edwards is an accomplished clinical investigator
with research interests in the field of pediatric medicine and immunization.

Dr. Beth Malow
Dr. Malow, Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of the Vanderbilt Sleep Disorders Center, serves as an
associate director of the Clinical Research Center. Dr. Malow is a nationally recognized authority on sleep disorders
and patient oriented investigation of sleep across many clinical disciplines.
