CRC Resources - Nutrition Services
The mission of the CRC Bionutrition Research Service is to provide investigators with the
professional support they need in order to:
- develop and implement clinical research protocols,
-
provide clinical services to all patients, and
-
promote the professional and personal development of research nutrition staff.
To effectively serve the CRC, the Office of Nutrition is staffed 6:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday (6:30am-3:00pm weekends). The Metabolic Kitchen operates 6:00am - 6:00pm, 7 days per week.
The Dietetic Assistant IIs are especially trained in research diet preparation techniques and possess unique skills not found among traditional food service staff. All bionutrition staff are certified by the IRB to participate in approved protocols. Combined staff experience is greater than 50 years.
Quality control procedures are continually utilized for unit improvement and adherence to protocol facility requirements. Each outpatient is interviewed during the study period to access overall research diet acceptability and food quality, ensuring continuous improvement on research diet services.
