Bill Pojedinec joined as a member of the ICU Delirium and Cognitive Impairment Study Group – Division of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2010. Bill has over 22 years of experience as an administrator in clinical/academic institutions. 19 years out of the 22 years were spent at two major New Jersey state universities and a major private medical college in New York.
Before to coming to Vanderbilt, Bill worked at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey as the financial administrator for the Department of OB/GYN and WH. He prepared, implemented, and managed all of the Department's financial activities – Medical School, Hospital and Grant and Contracts budgets which totaled $18 million in Department Funds. He was also responsible for administering the Department's Faculty Practice which generated $3.3 million in gross revenue annually.
Bill's role with the ICU Delirium and Cognitive Impairment Team is Program Administrative Manager. He is responsible for the day to day administrative operations of this interdisciplinary research team of research nurses, coordinators and analysts. Bill is accountable for the ongoing research operations including contracts, regulatory and IRB compliance, grant administration, and financial development and management. He is also an administrative liaison between other departments within Vanderbilt and the TN Valley Veterans Administration Hospital as well as other hospitals that partner with the research group as study sites for various projects.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Accounting at Montclair State University. Bill has worked primarily in the healthcare industry.
