Clinical Work Stations:
Password Help

This information is based on experience and technical knowledge. A few minutes reviewing it may save you time and delays in the future.

Things To Remember About Clinical Workstation Passwords
1. Your Clinical Workstation password protects you and your patients. Please remember to guard its confidentiality and sign-off when you have finished entering orders/information.
2. Your Clinical Workstation password will expire every 90 days. You may change your password before the 90 day period if you wish.
3. Clinical Workstation passwords should contain at least 5 but no more than 8 characters, and use at least one number in your password.
Invalid: abcdef
Acceptable: xyz923, xyzfgh3.
4. Passwords may NOT contain special characters like ( ~, !, #, %, * ).
5. Make passwords as unique as possible.
6. Choose a password you have never used or when updating (renewing) passwords, use an altered form of your previous password. They may NOT be an exact match.
7. Before entering passwords, make sure the Caps Lock key is off.
8. Using all lower case characters helps to prevent your being "Revoked." A "Revoked" password message means your password has been incorrectly entered at least 3 times. It will have to be resumed by a Help Desk operator after confirming your identity.
9. Type your password carefully! We appreciate your time and are dedicated to assisting you in the most efficient manner. However, typing your password carefully will aid in successful log-in and save you the time spent calling the Help Desk for password resets.
10. The Help Desk will not resume passwords for individuals calling in behalf of another person.

Logging IN on a Stat-Wizorder Screen
1. If the computer monitor (screen ) is dark when you approach the Stat-Wizorder, Clinical Work Station (CWS) press the space bar and you will see a Stat Sign-On screen that looks like the one below:
2. Move the mouse pointer over the green "click to sign-on" button and press the mouse left click button. The "Clinical Workstation Log-In" box will appear, prompting you to enter your UserID and Password.
3.
Move the mouse pointer over the UserID box and left click. Enter your assigned UserID.
4. Next... Press the Tab key once, or move the mouse pointer over the password box and left click. Enter your current password.
5. Click OK
6. If you are prompted with a message that your password has expired, you will be prompted to enter a new password.
After entering a new password, you will be prompted to verify that same new password. This means retyping the same new password exactly as you typed it on the new password line, then click OK.
7. If the computer appears to hesitate, please be patient. Password authentication usually takes a moment to process. The sign-on box will disappear and your patient census will display.
8. If the password you selected is already in use or is unacceptable, the system will prompt you to try again. You may wish to review the Things To Remember About Clinical Workstation Passwords" section above.
9. If you unsuccessfully enter a password three times, the system will revoke your Log-in ID and you will see the following screen:

A Help Desk operator will have to resume your current password. If you have forgotten your current password, the Help Desk can assign you a temporary password.
This will allow you to select a new unique password. The Help Desk number is 3-4357.
