Outlook Email requires the VUnet ID and password. Your VUnet ID must be authorized/activated prior to using it to log in to your Email. If you have registered for an e-password, you must use your VUnet ID and e-password to log in to your Outlook email. |

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) client is required prior to setting up Email clients. For detailed instructions on Email client setup, access the NCS website and click on the Email installation and configuration link on the NCS website.

How do I get my Email password reset? |

Email logons for both Microsoft Outlook and VUmail now utilize the VUnet ID. If you are using the Vunet ID and a V password, the Help Desk can set your VUnet ID to a reauthorization status to allow you to change your V password.
If you have an e-password, you will need to access the forgot it e-password page to find out how to re-register for a new e-password or how to recover your e-password if you enabled that option. |

Contact the LAN Manager or Business Manager for your department. They will submit the necessary paperwork and notify you when the account has been enabled. For those departments without a dedicated LAN or Business Manager, call NCS at 6-0642 to request an Email account. For more information, see the NCS website for Requesting Email accounts. |

VUMC is currently supporting two Email addresses
first.lastname@mcmail.vanderbilt.edu (old Lotus Notes email address)
and
first.lastname@vanderbilt.edu (new Outlook email address)
The format firstname.lastname@mcmail.vanderbilt.edu will be supported until April 2005. This means that if anyone sends a message to email address in the format firstname.lastname@mcmail.vanderbilt.edu, the message will be relayed to the appropriate system, resulting in the email message reaching the intended recipient. However, it is recommended that through this process, any new stationery, letterhead and business cards or anything with an email address be changed to reflect the firstname.lastname@vanderbilt.edu. |
