The Gould Lab

We belong to the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Dept. of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

We study the proteins and signaling pathways that regulate cytokinesis and couple cell division to chromosome segregation using live cell imaging as well as proteomic, genetic, and biochemical approaches.

Alyssa at HHMI

In March, Alyssa presented her poster, Stimulating a mitotic checkpoint through phosphorylation and ubiquitination of the SIN scaffold protein, Sid4, at the HHMI meeting.

Kathy elected to AAAS

In November Kathy was elected as Fellow of AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science). All of the new fellows will be recognized at the 2012 AAAS annual meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia.

This February Janel presented her poster, Discovery of endocytic DUB substrates using comparative proteomics of ubiquitinated proteins purified from fission yeast, at the sixth international conference, “SUMO, Ubiquitin, UBL Proteins: Implications for Human Diseases”.
