Chemistry

A key to the analysis of modified proteins is the use of affinity chemistry approaches to capture modified proteins. In collaboration with Drs. Lawrence Marnett and Ned Porter we are using novel model electrophiles and affinity capture methods to detect protein targets of endogenous electrophiles in complex cell proteomes. We also employ stable isotope tagging methods to quantify changes in modified protein forms.
