Clinical/Translational Studies

We have begun to expand our involvement in human subjects research through collaborations with colleagues at Vanderbilt and elsewhere. Major objectives of these studies are to explore and validate the application of protein adducts as biomarkers of chemical and drug toxicity and disease processes. A new project in the laboratory involves the analysis of plasma proteins for adducts indicative of type 2 diabetes and for systemic oxidative stress.
