Biostatistics in the Emphasis Program

An educational goal of the Emphasis Program is to introduce students to the concepts and practice of Biostatistics as integral to the design and completion of a scientific project. To meet this goal, the Department of Biostatistics has developed a program consisting of lectures, biostatistics clinics and individual assistance. Although attendance is not required, students, whose projects utilize biostatistics in the design or completion of the work, will be expected to take advantage of the lectures, clinics and the individual assistance offered by the Department.

Biostatistical Lectures

See the lecture schedule for 2007-2008, including downloadable Powerpoint files.

Biostatistical Clinics

The Department of Biostatistics holds clinic every day at lunchtime (lunch provided). To introduce VMS 1 students to the clinics, each student will attend one clinic as an observer. Learn more about Biostatistical Clinics or see a schedule of clinics.

Individual biostatistical assistance

The Department of Biostatistics is committed to providing assistance to the students in the design, execution and completion of their projects. Learn more about individual biostatistical assistance.
