Cadaver Ball

Cadaver Ball is THE annual social event at VUSM. Anywhere from 800 to 1,200 people congregate in the largest ball room in the largest non-gambling hotel in the world (Opryland) for dinner, dancing, and entertainment. It all started out in the late 60's, when the fourth-year class started throwing large parties to honor those members of the first-year class who survived Gross Anatomy. Since then, Cadaver Ball has grown more sophisticated, but it is still just as much fun. After cocktails and dinner, the prestigious Shovel award for outstanding faculty teacher is presented. The Bucket award is presented to the fourth-year student who has consistently caught the most flak. Next, the first and fourth classes provide entertainment in the form of sometimes irreverent skits.

Attended by almost everyone who has anything to do with VMS, Cadaver Ball is virtually guaranteed to be a good time.
