Dr. Jia was trained in preventive medicine and epidemiology. His research interests focus on HIV/AIDS, infectious disease epidemiology, and surveillance. Through the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health, Dr. Jia is collaborating with China Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), China Ministry of Health (MOH), and China local health departments and Pakistan BRIDGE in characterizing the prevalence and measuring the seroincidence of various high risk sub-populations for HIV/AIDS, e.g., drug users, men who have sex with men, and female sex workers. Dr. Jia serves as the project director, co-investigator, or PI for four interactive HIV-related programs funded by NIH. Dr. Jia is developing projects using behavior theory based intervention to expand coverage of HIV/syphilis testing and care among MSM and injection drug users in order to improve the coverage of prevention programs, treatment and care services in communities with a high HIV rates.

Dr. Qian was trained in preventive medicine and Epidemiology. His research interests focus on HIV/AIDS and infectious disease epidemiology and harm reduction for substance abuse. Dr. Qian is developing projects on integration of contingency management into methadone programs, male circumcision for reducing HIV/STI risks among men who have sex with men, and substance abuse screening and treatment among HIV-infected patients.
