Welcome from the Director

The Institute for Global Health is committed to advancing health and development in the world’s resource-limited regions. With projects in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, our mission is based on service and capacity-building, training of Vanderbilt and in-country health professionals, and pragmatic research of public health importance. Institute members seek to nurture young talent, bring experienced persons to an appreciation of what their skills can do in settings abroad, and to build bridges between what we do here in Tennessee and what is needed overseas. We welcome you to peruse our web site. Do not hesitate to send us an email if you have any questions.

Sten H. Vermund
