Dinner with a Dermatologist

Thursday September 1st, 2005


Dermatologists included Patrick Burnett, MD, PhD; Darrel Ellis, MD; Jo-David Fine, MD; Lloyd King, MD, PhD; Tom Stasko, MD; and John Zic, MD. A total of 28 Vanderbilt and Meharry students from all four classes had dinner with dermatology faculy members in groups of six to seven. This format provided a personal atmosphere where students felt comfortable engaging in a dialogue with the dermatologists. At the end of the meeting, there was a brief organizational meeting to start a Dermatology Interest Group at Meharry Medical College. Catering was provided by Grins Cafe.

Dermatology Residency

Tuesday March 8th, 2005

The speakers answered questions about dermatology residency training and career options. A total of 30 students from all four classes attended the meeting. Catering was provided by Chez Jose.

The speakers answered questions about what it is like to be a dermatologist or do skin research and what are the most interesting aspects of dermatology. A total of 28 students from all four classes attended the meeting. Catering was provided by Calypso Cafe.
