About Us
The Simulation Technologies Program began in May 2005. It is part of the Center for Experiential Learning and Assessment and was created to provide a 21st century adjunct to traditional medical education at Vanderbilt.
STP is already undergoing exponential growth. This growth has come from simulations in a variety of medical specialties and interdisciplinary teams. We began our existence in a temporary facility in Oxford House and have recently moved into a new 11,000 sq ft CELA facility in October of 2007. More space will allow this growth to continue for several years to come.
Mission
Our mission is to improve healthcare quality through enhanced training of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals through the use of simulated patient interaction and treatment.
Vision
Our vision is that every healthcare provider will attain competence through simulation before any high-risk patient care.
