Join us for the 2008 Southern Group on Educational Affairs (SGEA) Annual Conference in Nashville Tennessee. The SGEA organization, through its meetings, fosters educational excellence throughout the continuum of medical education – UME, GME, and CME. It also facilitates communication and collaboration amongst our educators and provides a forum for discussing important educational initiatives.
The theme of this year’s meeting is “Medical Education: Balancing Learning Strategies and Technologies.” All those who teach and learn in medical education are encouraged to attend. Our guest speaker for the Thursday opening session is Daniel R. Masys, M.D. , Professor and Chair of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM). The program promises exciting workshops, oral presentations, small group discussions, posters and a few special events including: Tech-ville (take a memorable walk through Tech-ville and see demonstrations of various uses for technology in your teaching, learning and patient care areas), Center for Experiential Learning and Assessment (CELA) tours, and a gala reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame with special guest speaker, Steven Gabbe, M.D., Dean of the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Please join us in Music City and enjoy all that Nashville has to offer. On Saturday, visit the Parthenon, the Grand Ole Opry, The Hermitage, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts and more.
