Assistant professor of pediatrics in the Division of General Pediatrics but considers himself a VMS XI (an eleventh year Vanderbilt medical student). Patterson received his undergraduate and medical degree from Vanderbilt University. He completed his residency at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and served as chief resident. He is a frequent Tuesday night volunteer at the Shade Tree Family Clinic, a medical student-run free clinic in East Nashville. His interests include resident and student education, clinic logistics, health literacy, and improving access for underserved communities.

Currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine with primary care clinics at Vanderbilt Internal Medicine and the VA Hospital. She is a proud Gator fan and graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine. Sastre completed her Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and served one year as Primary Care Chief Resident prior to moving to Nashville. She has special interests in graduate and undergraduate medical education, teaching evidence based medicine, serving at the student-run Shade Tree Clinic and the faith-based Siloam Family Health Center, as well as enjoying SEC football.
