About Us

A group of assistant professors, Natasha Halasa, Peggy Kendall, M. Kathleen Figaro, Ellen Lockhart and Alyssa Hasty have established an initiative at Vanderbilt to prepare and train women faculty for successful careers in academic science. The target audience for this new program, called "Women on Track," is women faculty who are interested in pursuing a research career on the tenure track at Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt's own data show that the majority of women on the tenure track are assistant professors; only a minority have achieved tenure. This group is hoping to increase the rate of promotion and the numbers of women on the tenure track by addressing gender-specific issues related to career development.

If you would like to support "Women on Track" by giving to the Vanderbilt Fund please do so by clicking the button below and choosing other in the drop down box for the area you wish to support. Once other has been chosen you should type Women on Track in the "Allocation Description" box.

Thank you for your support!
