Dear Faculty and Staff:

You are invited to enroll in a one-week course entitled Planning and Managing Data Collection. The course is led by Paul Harris, Ph.D., research associate professor of Biomedical Informatics, and will meet March 7-11, from 8-11 a.m.

The objective of this course is to teach students the fundamentals of research data planning, collection, storage and management using the Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) system.

Specific goals of instruction include:
• Best practices for research study data planning and collection;
• Data security considerations;
• Basic REDCap study initiation and setup; and
• Advanced REDCap study modules and configuration settings

One academic credit is awarded for participation in this course, and tuition is $1,200 (plus $30 transcript fee, if applicable). Prospective applicants are encouraged to consult Vanderbilt’s tuition benefit policy, as this may reduce the cost of tuition.

E-mail Melanie Overton, Ed.D., for additional information.
