Message from Deputy Vice Chancellor Pinson about VUMC Workforce Learning Operations

Dear Colleagues,

Dr. Balser and I would like you to join us as we welcome Laura Levy, who starts this week as VUMC's director of Workforce Learning Operations.

Laura can best be described as highly energetic and constantly in pursuit of the best practices in the field of workforce education.

A Certified Performance Consultant (CPT), she was previously the Senior Strategic Training Leader of Pharmaceutical Dispensing Operations and Oncology Patient Support Operations for Medco Health Solutions in Indianapolis.

Prior to that, she served as manager of Training, eLearning & Knowledge Management Learning Solutions for Hospital Corp. of America (HCA) in Nashville.

Laura has both Instructional Technology Leadership and a master’s degree in Sociology from the University of South Florida, as well as a bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University.

She comes to us with extensive experience planning and executing training and performance initiatives in hospital/health care, specialty pharmacy, engineering and oncology patient service operations.

At Vanderbilt, Laura's responsibilities will include training leaders to develop, implement and champion a common architecture supporting workplace learning and those who provide distributed training and development.
