Levi Watkins Jr. M.D. Premedical Conference to be Saturday, Oct. 29
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine is holding its fourth annual Levi Watkins Jr. M.D. Premedical Conference on Saturday, Oct. 29. The conference is designed for students from underrepresented minority groups who are planning to pursue a career as a physician, and will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Light Hall.
VUSM has a strong commitment to increasing minority representation in the health professions. The conference is designed to help students successfully navigate through the application process.
Among the activities and information presented will be an AMCAS overview, personal statement workshop, mock interviews, M.D./Ph.D. program, summer research opportunities and Q & A panel with Vanderbilt admissions committee representatives. There are many opportunities throughout the day for attendees to connect with current medical students, residents and attending physicians.
A registration fee of $26 is required, which will include the above workshops, breakfast and lunch and a conference T-shirt. Conference participants will also be eligible to win a free KAPLAN MCAT prep course to be raffled at the end of the day. Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and comfortably.
