19th Annual George W. Holcomb, Jr., lecture in pediatric surgery, Nov. 4
George K. Gittes, M.D., chair of Pediatric Surgery, surgeon-in-chief and director of Surgical Research at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, will address “Pancreatic Derivation, Formation and Regeneration” at the George W. Holcomb, Jr. Lecture in Pediatric Surgery.

The George W. Holcomb, Jr. Lecture series was established in 1990 to recognize the medical and surgical contributions of Dr. Holcomb, who graduated from the Vanderbilt School of Medicine in 1946 and dedicated his career to pediatric surgical patients in the middle Tennessee region for more than 30 years. He was also the founding member of the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Vanderbilt.
