VUH elevator upgrade to begin today, continue through July

Beginning Nov. 1, an upgrade of the Vanderbilt University Hospital (VUH) service elevators 6 through 10 will begin. During the upgrade one elevator will be shut down at a time, and crews will be working two shifts to minimize the down time of each elevator.

While this project is active, four of the five elevators will be operating as normal, including the code blue function. The upgrade is scheduled to be competed by next July. During this time Space and Facilities Planning asks that all staff use the VUH passenger elevators for non-equipment transports.
