Regional Transportation Authority raises fares on five bus routes

The new Regional Transportation Authorigy fares, effective Friday, Jan. 6, are for these five routes:

  • Route 89X Springfield/ Joelton Express
  • Route 91X Franklin/ Brentwood Express
  • Route 92X Gallatin/ Hendersonville Express
  • Route 95X Spring Hill Express
  • Route 96X Nashville/ Murfreesboro Relax & Ride

Regular fare (one way) will increase to $4. These single-ride tickets are not sold at Vanderbilt

The 20-ride pass, which will increase to a discount rate of $47 for    Vanderbilt employees, graduate and medical students and Medical Center volunteers if purchased at the following locations:

• Parking Permit Office at East Garage (Ground Level), open 7 a.m. to  5 p.m. (936-1215)

• Vanderbilt Valet Services at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (936-8253)

• Vanderbilt Valet Services in Medical Center North, open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (343-8254)

• Vanderbilt University Traffic and Parking Office in Wesley Place Garage, open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed Tuesdays 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) (322-2554)

Note that these rates apply to Regional Transportation Authority routes. Metro Transportation Authority local service bus rates are also increasing, but will have no bearing on cost to employees as they continue to pay by swiping their Vanderbilt badges, said Jack Jakobik, transportation management specialist in VUMC Traffic and Parking Services.
