Health Plus offers Count on Your Heart program

During National Heart Month in February and National Nutrition Month in March, Health Plus reminds you to love your heart by participating in a variety of programs designed to be fun and informative and to help lower your risk for heart disease.

o Know Your Numbers — keep your blood pressure and weight in check by visiting a Know Your Numbers station.

o Wear Red Day Lunch and Learn Feb. 3, 214 Light Hall, noon-12:55 p.m. — a discussion of the latest research on heart disease with Vanderbilt Heart cardiologist Mark Glazer, M.D. Wear red and get a heart-healthy recipe packet. A heart-healthy lunch will be offered on a first-come first-served basis.

o Love Your Heart Expo, Feb. 8, in the north lobby of Light Hall from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. — Visit this event to receive a cholesterol and glucose screening compliments of Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute and the Vanderbilt Stroke Clinic, and have an opportunity to get one-on-one counseling from a Vanderbilt cardiologist and registered dietitian, get a flu shot, win prizes and more.  Note that a limited number of screenings are available, and will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
