The Maternal Infant Health Outreach Worker (MIHOW) program of VUMC’s Center for Health Services will host its fifth annual Celebration of Women Mentoring Women luncheon at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 2.

Honorees at the event are:

• Loretta Green, a family/school/community coordinator at Cockrill Elementary School, who has mentored nine women through Christian Community Services Inc., an organization that helps families as they move from government subsidized housing to independence.

• Barbara Nicholson, who became a volunteer with the La Leche League of Nashville in 1981, where she found her passion for mentoring, educating and supporting breastfeeding mothers in Nashville.

• Renata Soto, executive director of Conexión Américas, where she mentors Latina women, many of whom are immigrants and who are struggling with language, cultural barriers and often poverty and lack of education.

The honorary chair for the event is Barbara Clinton, director of Vanderbilt's Center for Health Services and the mistress of ceremonies is Dale Smith Thomas, president of Winners By Choice.

Tickets to the event, which is a fundraiser for MIHOW, are $60 per person. Tickets may be purchased by contacting luncheon chairperson Robin Baskin at 292-4674 or visiting http://www.mihow.org.
