House Organ Pet Poll winners announced

The polls are closed and winners have been declared in the 2012 House Organ Pet Poll, which crowns the winners for Vanderbilt’s Dog of the Year, Cat of the Year, and Group or Duo of the Year.

Vanderbilt’s Dog of the Year is Bobo, the beloved canine of Myke Ondek of the Gift Shop.

Vanderbilt’s Cat of the Year is Skyline, who shares a house with Ed Donnelly of Radiology. Skyline won a close and spirited race over Sushi, the cat of Alison Miller of Genetic Medicine.

And the Duo of the Year is Jake and Elizabeth, taken by Anne Ussery of Finance. Jake’s dignified demeanor combined with Elizabeth’s big smile won over voters.

The winners now can enjoy the only prize ever offered by the House Organ Pet Poll: a year's worth of bragging rights.

More than 7,600 votes were cast in the 13 days of balloting, showing again that Vanderbilt people love their pets.

The final election tallies, along with a look at all the nominated cats and dogs and other photos and videos of Vanderbilt’s pets, are at the House Organ website, http://www.vanderbilt.edu/houseorgan/, or on the House Organ app for iPad, which can be downloaded at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vumc-house-organ/id486415475?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4.
