Call for Abstracts: Annual Postdoctoral Research and Shared Resources Symposium, Wednesday, May 2
The Sixth Annual Postdoctoral Research and Shared Resources Symposium will be held on Wednesday, May 2, in Light Hall.
This announcement serves as a call for abstracts from postdoctoral fellows to present their research projects in poster format (submission of abstracts is online through the link below). For the fourth consecutive year, this event will be held in conjunction with Vanderbilt’s Shared Resources and will feature selected presentations from both postdocs and core facilities.
Prizes will be awarded to postdocs in several scientific categories for best poster presentation. VUMC Shared Resources will award additional prizes for best use of Shared Resources and core facilities. New this year, Shared Resources also will sponsor a $200 credit to the institutional core of your choice for the postdoc who visits the most Shared Resources posters.
Similar to the format of previous years, the symposium will begin with short talks by postdocs and core faculty, followed by the poster session. Immediately after the poster session, the keynote address will be presented by Gregory S. Kopf, associate vice chancellor of Research Administration at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Kopf was selected as the keynote speaker by VUMC postdocs.
The event will conclude with prizes awarded for best poster presentations, as well as the announcement of the Postdoc of the Year and Mentor of the Year awards.
The deadline for abstract submission is Monday, March 19.
